The name itself embodies our multi-dimensional approach. ISHTA stands for Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra, and Ayurveda, or a combination of physical, energetic, and healing practices. But ISHTA has a double meaning that stretches back to the very roots of yoga. ISHTA is also a Sanskrit word translating to 'that which resonates with the individual spirit,' emphasizing the personal journey they encourage and guide our students to embrace.

If you are looking to become a yoga instructor, you are in the right place!

The ISHTA Yoga Teacher Training program was created and is taught in part by Yogiraj Alan Finger, one of the preeminent Western Tantric teachers of our time. Personal study with Alan and his senior teachers offers a wealth of yogic knowledge and an experience that is profound and life-changing!

ISHTA Yoga is a growing world-renowned system of yoga founded by Alan Finger and taught in the United States, Australia, England, Canada, and Japan. ISHTA teacher training programs are regarded as some of the most well-rounded and in-depth curriculums in the industry. ISHTA trains its teachers to acquire and master the skills needed to excel in group classes of all levels, private lessons, corporate lessons, and specialty yoga classes. The courses include studies in the following areas: meditation, asana, postural alignment, pranayama, Tantric philosophy, yoga history, anatomy, Sanskrit, pre-natal yoga, restorative yoga, injury management, voice and a whole lot more. ISHTA trainees study not only the above-mentioned principles of yoga, but also themselves. They therefore come out of the teacher trainings feeling confident and ready to practice and teach what they have learned if they do indeed decide to teach.

Trainings are all taught under the guidance of Yogiraj Alan Finger and his senior teaching staff. Each ISHTA Yoga teacher trainer is highly skilled to teach the essential topics in teacher trainings. Prior to becoming trainers, they spend many years apprenticing Alan Finger to hone their own skills and knowledge of the key subjects. They are also required to teach their own yoga classes for many years as well as to assist trainings before they lead teacher trainings.

Bridge Teacher Training Program

The Bridge Program is a total of approximately 26.5 hours of lectures. It is designed for those who are 200-hour certified in a school outside of ISHTA Yoga to become eligible to participate in our 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training. This program is also a great option for practitioners who are interested in deepening their knowledge of yoga and the ISHTA lineage without enrolling in the full teacher certification program. Curriculum includes ISHTA Tantra, ISHTA Alignment, Ayurveda, The Subtle Body, Pranayama and Meditation, taught by Alan Finger and senior ISHTA teachers.

300 hour Teacher Training Program

This Yoga Alliance certified training meets 9 weekends and 9 Tuesdays over the course of approximately 5 months. There are three modules included in this program: personal study, apprenticeship, and in-training studies. Some of the advanced topics include: Advanced Pranayama and Meditation, Advanced Sequencing and Ayurveda, ISHTA Therapeutics, and Yoga Nidra. In-depth study of advanced asana and mastering hands-on adjustments are also part of the program. The goal is to pass on Tantric and modern sensibility as a yoga lineage. This advanced training grounds the trainee in the ISHTA perspective, which integrates all aspects of ancient yoga and modern living into a seamless practice of wisdom and joy.
